Synopsis
Ishwar, Shita and Abhiram are three siblings who struggle to rebuild their lives amidst displacement and societal upheaval after the partition of Bengal. They expect to find happiness in this environment, but tragic conflicts emerge after Abhiram declares his love to his sister Shita, something Ishwar rejects outright. In the third film of Ritwik Ghatak's trilogy on the emancipation of India, SUBARNAREKHA questions the caste system and the displacement of the people in search of a better life.
