Synopsis
Suzanne, an American correspondent in France, and her husband Jacques, a former avant-garde film director turned commercial, get involved in a strike staged by workers at a factory. Their martial crisis matches the social and political crisis left in the aftermath of the May 1968 events. Through a gaze that distances the performers from their characters, Godard depicts the pervasiveness of class warfare in all aspects of society and cinema.
