With his only film, winner of the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, the late director Malik Bendjelloul thrilled the world with the incredible story of Sixto Rodriguez, a Detroit folk singer who enjoyed a short and discrete musical career in the 70s. Away from the public eye for decades, he was presumed dead and lived a regular life without being aware of the impact that his music was having in other cultures and generations.
