Nayra Sanz Fuentes is an independent filmmaker and producer with a degree in Hispanic Philology, a Diploma in Advanced Studies from Berlin’s Humboldt University, and a Master’s Degree in Film Directing. She created the production company Rinoceronte Films. She has directed nine short films, which have been screened in more than 400 film festivals and universities, receiving awards such as Caracola Alcances Documentary Film Festival, the Edward Snowden Award, and the IBAFF for Best Short Film, among others. Her first feature film, TAN ANTIGUO COMO EL MUNDO (2012), won the Círculo de Oro Precolombino Award at the 29th Bogotá International Film Festival. She was the production manager and editor of the feature-length film THE BUILDING (2012), nominated for the Goya Awards, and co-produced and co-written THE HIDDEN CITY (2018), a winner of the Feroz Critics Award.

She was a programmer for festivals such as MiradasDoc and the Ciclo DOCMA and works with educational programmes such as MasterLAV, the LENS School, Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote, and the International School of Film and Television from San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba. She was a jury member at SEMINCI, Valladolid International Film Festival, the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival, and Alcances Documentary Film Festival, among others.
