Jihane Bougrine is a film critic and a member of the selection committee at the Marrakech International Film Festival. A journalist for Le Desk and Vogue Arabia, she travels the world’s film festivals in search of cinematic trends, box-office insights, and industry challenges. In addition to her work as a critic, she is actively involved in script analysis and film project development, participating in screenplay labs and consulting sessions such as First Cut Lab and Ateliers de l’Atlas, where she provides expertise on films in their finalization phase. Passionate about strong narratives and distinctive perspectives, she explores the diversity of African cinema and advocates for stories rooted in local realities. A member of FIPRESCI, she has served as a film critic jury member at various prestigious festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival (2022), the Venice Film Festival (2020), and the National Film Festival of Tangier (2018).
