Director of ZINEBI (International Festival of Documentary and Short Film in Bilbao).

PhD and professor of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She has taught and occupied management posts for fourteen years, both in university degrees and a variety of Masters. She is currently a visiting professor for the Master’s Degree in Theory and Practice of Creative Documentary Making at the UAB in Barcelona, where she acts as a tutor for the development and production of the documentary projects, and for the Master in Contemporary Technological and Performance Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts  at UPV/EHU.

She is a coordinator of the multidisciplinary project Territorios y Fronteras, Research on Documentary Filmmaking. She participated in the Research Group MAC (Contemporary Audiovisual Mutations) at the UPV/EHU. She carried out research internships at the Escuela de Cine (FUC) and the Tres de Febrero National University (UNTREF) in Buenos Aires. She was also a guest professor at the EITCV (Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV) in San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba. Her line of research, books and other publications focus mainly on contemporary documentary filmmaking.

She is a freelance worker as a consultant in the development of film projects. She has also taken part in numerous assessment commissions for the development and production of film projects, as well as expert panels for WIP forums, LABs and pitching sessions at a variety of international festivals.
