After studying painting and advertising photography at Arte 10 school in Madrid, Manrique did a master’s degree in Directing and Creating New Audiovisual Technologies at the Madrid School of Communication, Image and Sound. Since 2002 she has directed commercials, music videos and video art with production companies such as The Brownie Film Company, Tesauro and Attic. These associations have led to several festival nominations and awards including the Young Director Award at Cannes for the “Murakami” commercial. She has been in official Best Music Video sections at festivals such as SICAF (South Korea), Anima Mundi (Brazil) and the Malaga Festival with “Sencilla Alegría” performed by Luz Casal. She also exhibited at the New York RestFest. Her music video “Ella Baila Bembe” performed by Amparanoia obtained the Best International Music Video award at MediaFest, besides other nominations and awards. She also obtained Gold for the Best Directing of Actors with “Bujía” at the Iberoamerican Advertising Festival (FIAP). In 2008 she was selected for inclusion in the DVD SHOT magazine (London) in the Best Young Directors section with the commercial “Sardinas”. She has also been on the jury at several film festivals. She was the editor and scriptwriter of the documentary feature DREAMS BEHIND THE WALL, which won the second prize at Bagdad Film Festival, the audience award at the Al Ard Doc Film Festival (Italy) and which was selected at Seminci, among others. She is a teacher of Audiovisual Narrative at the Instituto del Cine and for the Animayo educational programme in collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands and La Caixa Forum, and of Film Language at Francisco Marroquín University (UFM). THE LAST ARCHER (2019) is her first non-fiction feature as the director, scriptwriter, editor and co-producer. It was recently selected for the Artscapes section at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival (Toronto), where it came in the audience’s top 20, for the Dart Festival, for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival  and for Docudays UA IHRDFF. It was also nominated for ten Goya Awards 2021.
