Synopsis
Sergei Loznitsa’s last film observes a stream of tourists who are visiting the Dachau and Sachsenhausen concentration camps. And the title of his film refers to a book by W.G. Sebald which tells the story of a Jewish man who as a child refugee was robbed of his name and roots. The filmmaker offers no comments but his work raises crucial questions: Which motivation do we find to go to such places? What are we, modern-day tourists, looking for?.
