SPEAKER: Nieves Maroto

Degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, Nieves Maroto is one of the board members of CIMA. She worked at Alta Films since 1986, when the company only had three employees. Simultaneously, she held several positions as a distributor programmer, responsible for Marketing, responsible for Traffic and programmer of the multiplex chain. She worked as the managing director of the company, witnessing and actively participating in the growth of a company which for many years was a leader in the distribution of independent films and film exhibitions in the original version, and managed 200 theaters. She has been responsible for distribution and marketing plans for films such as SECRETOS DEL CORAZÓN, LA BUENA ESTRELLA, EL HIJO DE LA NOVIA, LES CHORISTES, DAS LEBEN DER ANDEREN, EL SECRETO DE SUS OJOS, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS or THE ARTIST.

She has also participated in the production of some feature films including GUANTANAMERA, MY NAME IS JOE, RENCOR, TE DOY MIS OJOS, FUERTE APACHE, LA NOCHE DE LOS GIRASOLES, o MIEL DE NARANJAS, in the latter as executive producer. Since 2016 she heads the division of distribution and production of SUPER 8, where she has been able to distribute some interesting titles such as NO SÉ DECIR ADIÓS, JEFE, LOS DEMÁS DÍAS, EL PROXENETA, PASO CORTO, MALA LECHE or CARMEN Y LOLA.
