Miguel Dias is the Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival’s director and programmer. He is also the director of the Portuguese Short Film Agency for the international promotion and distribution of Portuguese short films.
He was a producer and programmer at the film, audiovisual and multimedia department of “Oporto 2001, European Capital of Culture”, and of the “Odisseia Nas Imagens” festival between September 1999 and December 2001. In addition to this, he was a programmer at the Passos Manuel cinema in Oporto in 2004 and 2005.
He has done some programming work at the Solar in Vila do Conde film art gallery, and has been the event manager at Estaleiro and Campus in 2011 and 2012, which held educational activities regarding film production.
Besides, he has produced several short films and has been the one in charge of programming various film series in Portugal and abroad.
Dias is the founder of Vila do Conde’s Film Club, as well as a member of the board and programmer from 1991 and 1996. He is also a board member at the Portuguese Film Club Association from 1992 to 1993 and member of the jury at several international film festivals.
