The 17th Film Festival opens the entry period for being part of the popular jury

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Wednesday, March 1, 2017. The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival has opened today Wednesday, March 1, the entry period for being part of the jury that will grant the Audience Award of the 17th edition, that will take place between March 31 and April 9. The popular jury, made up of thirty people, will value the feature films submitted to the official section and will select the title that, in their opinion, deserves the most the award that sounds out public opinion and which, besides, grants 1500 euros to their director.

To be a member of this jury one must be over 18 years old and apply for, before March 17, at the competition’s headquarters (Rodríguez Quegles Palacete, 4 Pérez Galdós Street, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Applications will be admitted based on entry order, until reaching the expected number.

Those who are finally selected shall commit to attend the screening of every single one of the official section’s feature films, for which they will be coordinated at all times by a member of the festival’s organization. Furthermore, they shall take part in an informative meeting prior to the beginning of the Festival and, inevitably, to the deliberation meeting, in which every single one of them will state their preference for the Audience Award.
